Danny LaPorte at Saddleback in Orange County. Danny is one of the nicest guys to ever race
and later became a World Champion. He's raced all over the world, including the Paris-Dakar
endurance race. Here he's racing a bike with a frame designed and built by Kelvin Franks, one of
the pioneers of long-travel suspension. Kelvin built some radical bikes so it wasn't unusual for Danny
to lead races only to blow an engine or break a frame and have to push back to the pits. Despite the
disappointments, Danny always kept a smile on his face and a good attitude.
