1969. This was the largest image ever run in the Ledger Gazette, which created some anxiety around
the newsroom. Since we were still using "hot type" the image was scanned onto plastic using a heated
stylus. Due to its size, the scan took hours and if anything had gone wrong during the process,
we would not have been able to rescan it and still meet our deadline
