| Even the officials had fun during events! I would do nearly anything to fill dead time during a race and in this case Dean Shook, Len Edwards and I had this barefoot race (notice the boots on the ground at the finish, right photo). I'm at the left in the first two shots and that's me winning on the right. I guess those guys wanted to keep their jobs! Len Edwards was with me from the start of Bruce Howell Productions right up to the end, handling everything from track prep to score keeping. His wife and three daughters also worked every event and sometimes their only pay was a late night dinner at the local Denny's. |
