Races were held at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds in Lancaster except for one event at
Indian Dunes in Newhall. Notice the flag starts; this was way before starting gates!

| On the left, tickets from my very first race. I worked for the promoters and it was a disaster. Freezing weather and poor advertising equaled empty grandstands. On the right, my first motocross promotion in 1975. Center, Jim Manning (left) and I conduct the rider's meeting. Jim created SAM (Scholastic Association of Motocross) with the hope of providing athletic recognition to motocrossers at the high school level |
